Home M&A Activity Repkon USA Buys General Dynamics OTS Garland Operations Facility in Texas
Technology firm Repkon USA has purchased the Garland, Texas-based operations facility of General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems to broaden its market presence and enhance its commitment to delivering high-quality platforms to the Department of Defense and its allies.
“This strategic acquisition by REPKON USA provides us with a large-scale heavy manufacturing footprint where we can implement advanced manufacturing techniques,” Bryan Van Brunt, president of Repkon USA, said in a statement published Wednesday.
What Does the Garland Operations Facility Produce?
The 38-acre Garland Operations facility manufactures metal parts for defense and aerospace applications.
The acquisition of the manufacturing facility will enable Repkon USA to strengthen its role in modernizing the U.S. and NATO defense industrial bases.
McCormick Stevenson Deal
The latest strategic move came just weeks after Repkon USA agreed to acquire McCormick Stevenson as part of efforts to strengthen its engineering and program management team. The transaction is expected to conclude in May, pending regulatory review.
Recent Contract Awards
In November, the U.S. Army awarded Repkon USA a $435 million contract to design, build and commission a production facility for trinitrotoluene, or TNT, in Graham, Kentucky.
The award seeks to reestablish domestic production of TNT, which is used to produce ammunition, bombs, grenades and artillery shells.
The company also secured a contract to design and construct a production line for 155mm artillery combustible cartridge cases in Texarkana, Texas.
